For this month’s Women’s History Year, I talked about Billie Holiday and the bravery she displayed by singing Strange Fruit.  Originally a poem written by Abel Meeropol, Strange Fruit is an eerie song about two men who were publicly lynched.  This song ruffled feathers, but Ms. Holiday sang it anyway.
